End of unit reflection

The first place I visit is Kenya. It is were the hobbits lived. It is hot because we are in a savanna. Well, it is a rain forest, but it became a savanna. I can hear the birds twitting and singing along, I can hear the hobbits talking in their language, I can feel the wind blowing through my ears, I see the light shining and I can see the rays of the sunlight. I can see Lucy, the first hobbit. She is short and she walks upright. She is bipedal and she belongs to the oldest group of human's ancestors. She looks like a 5 year old girl. If I give a guess, I guess she is 2.5 m tall and from the circumference of her head she probably had a small brain. "Ooh, man, one hour passed, I need to go. Bye hobbits!"

I arrive to a place that it is called Ancient Sumeria. It was located in Mesopotamia and it was right by the rivers Tigris and Euphrates. I can see people working and carrying rock to build something. It is hot. As I look at the location I think it is a really good location for agriculture. There were a lot of challenges for the people that lived there. The climate is semiarid. I think it is a good climate, but too hot for living. Well, my time passed, I have to go! "Bye, bye, Sumerians!" 

Now I'm going to Egypt. I can see the big, huge pyramids and the sphinx. The Egyptian kings and queens are treated by the slaves. I hear their original music and I enter in the king's valley and there are a lot of tombs and hieroglyphics. I smell the agriculture and see that it is being collected by the farmers and slaves. Well, my time is over again! I need to go to India. "Bye, Egyptian people, see you next time!" 

Aah India! Ooh, look at that! I arrived at the Taj Mahal. It has a wonderful story. It shows the love of one of the rulers. He decided to create a tomb for his love when she was dead. Ooh, the fresh flowers and the smell of it! I see the birds flying through and the people talking and visiting the Taj Mahal. Ooh, I ran out of timeeeeee! Ooh, what a trip!Wait, which country am I in? (Boss speaking) "You are in your office. The country is called office!" "Ooh, OK, I'll get back to work!" What a day and a very exciting experience!

The Eghitfold Path

I choose to write about Right effort because I try with a lot of effort  to study and I put a lot of effort in school. In my life I always have good attitude with teachers and adults, but sometimes I have bad attitude. I know I'm supposed to have a good attitude nearly all the time, but what can I do? I'm a human and I need to express myself. So that's a reason why I am right effort and I never give up. Well, if I do it means that what they are making me do or what I'm doing is too much risk or I'm risking my life.

Mapping Project Blog Post

a) How do physical features, climate and elevation relate to each other?

In the area the climate changes. For example, in the Himalayas it is not tropical wet, it is the freezing climate. The majorty of India is tropical wet and dry. In some areas near the rivers it is tropical wet and in some parts it is semiarid. A lot of pepole do not choose to live in the arid areas because it is so hot and in the night it is freezing.

b) What conclusions can you draw?
    (Think about natural resources, climate/weather, and human settlement.)

The humans prefer settling near the rivers in the tropical wet zones. There are 1.2 billion people today in India working with agriculture. Not a lot of people live in the desert, in the arid zones because in the day it is too hot and in the night it can turn up to be freezing. There is a lot of climate change and it only rains 4 inches per year in that zone.

Taj Mahal

The story talks abute how and why the Taj Mahal was built and by who. It was built by Khurram, afterward called Shah Jahan which means "King of the world". One day he went to the Bazar and he saw a girl. Khurram fell in love with her. She was called Arjumand. After, he married her and they had kids. One day he decided to call her wife Mumtaz Mahal which means "Jewel of the palace". One day Shah Jahan was told that his father died and he needed to return to his palace. Years later, Khurram an Arjumand had a daughter,  but after that Mumtaz died. Shah Jahan decided to show the world how much they loved each other so he decided to build a tomb for her, the most pretty tomb ever. That's how he showed his love.

Hindu god (Ganesha: Lord of Success)

Ganesha was the god of success. He holds two objects in her two hands. Those two objects were the one that she had in her right hand,a goad which he used to propel mankind forwards on the eternal path and remove obstacles from the way. In his left hand he has a noose that he uses to capture difficulties. Ganesha has an elephant head, big ears and huge pot-bellied. He was one of the five prime Hindu deities. They worship this god because he took the difficulties out. He is also known as the god of education. He destroyed the vanity, selfishness and pride.

Faceless' Indus Valley City Puzzles Archaeologists

This article talks about how the Indus valley civilization disappeared. Well, there are a lot of theories, one of the theories says that there was an earthquake and that it destroyed the city of Mohenjo Daro. The other one is that because of the floods the farmers left because the fertile soil was turning into a desert. However, no one dose really know what actually happened. The Indus valley civilization was discovered  in 1911. There is no evidence of the civilization. We don't know how they lived, where they lived, if they had any rulers. We don't know if they had a priest or a king or queen because there is nothing left.

Reflection on unit

Well, I think that for the first two projects I did a good job, but for the last one I really made a mistake. After doing every single thing I forgot to hand in the papers and I got a 0. During this unit we did a lot of things: we did three big projects and some small things. For the end of the unit we played a game called jeopardy. I think this unit was really fun to do. I was very collaborative in the first project when my partner was Eliza and we were supposed to describe the climate and the physical features of Egypt. For the second project, which was an individual project, I was a thinker. I am a risk-taker because I do really dangerous things and I'm caring because I help out other people. The people were inquirers. Only the ones that inquire are the ones that achieve something. The people needed to adapt to the environment in order to survive. That's why they came up with some brilliant ideas: writing system, dams, fire, clothes,  irrigation system, etc. The IB profile was very helpful because it helps me name some qualities I have and I it is well organized.
